Pam + Greg, River Valley Inn Wedding

After spending years apart, these high school sweethearts found their way back to one another and finally made it official this past summer. Pam and Greg had a small wedding at the historic River Valley Inn, in Glastonbury, Connecticut, surrounded by close family and friends. Guests arrived to find a quaint patio nestled in the Inn’s well manicured garden. Pergola’s full of wisteria lined the backyard, and tall weeping willows added a whimsical feel to the day. I loved incorporating the lush greenery and natural elements of the property in to Pam & Greg’s photos. Following the ceremony guests enjoyed heavy hor’dourves and were treated to fresh pasta served a la carte. The night winded down with cake and dancing under the stars. I truly enjoyed sharing in Pam & Greg’s special day.

Highlights from their day are below. Enjoy!

Franchesca+Rashard, Pardee Rose Garden Elopement

Franchesca & Rashard are the real deal you guys. When we first met over coffee, we chatted about how they met one another and their journey to saying "I do". As they shared with me, I could tell their love for one another was deep. Not because of any particular story they told, or phrase they said - but because of the ease and comfort shared between them. Like the way you feel when you put on your favorite sweatshirt, or that warm feeling you get when you sink in the couch after a long day. They're home to one another, and that shared feeling made photographing their day so special.

These two chose to have an elopement style wedding at a local rose garden with their immediate family. Their ceremony was short and sweet, and as we snuck off to take photos, guest snacked on light appetizers and drinks.  I loved the intimacy of their small wedding, and the freedom of schedule they chose to provide for the day.  Franchesca & Rashard chose to make their photographs the main emphasis of the day and set aside a large amount of time to take their portraits. We explored the park's greenhouses, cherry blossom grove and graciously stumbled upon on the most beautiful weeping willow tree, tucked away in the back corner of the property. It was such a sweet afternoon.Later that evening the group went out to a local restaurant to celebrate the days events.

Highlights from their day are below. Enjoy!

Morgan + Max, In-Home Couples Session

This in home couples session was such a blast! I drove the backroads to get to Morgan & Max's quaint apartment on the edge of Collinsville. This is Morgan and Max's first home together. Both work from home and decided a cozy indoor shoot would be the best way to celebrate their last moments as a family of two. Their apartment is perfect! Filled with natural light and white walls, it served as the perfect backdrop to highlight this special season in their relationship. They brunched, they cuddled, drank coffee together and snuggled in bed. It was the perfect way to spend a lazy Saturday. And the best part? Baby Bella was welcomed to the family a few short weeks later! Mama, Dad & baby are all doing great. Welcome to parenthood, guys! Enjoy the ride.

Kristen + Josh, Birth Announcement Mini Session

This year's mini sessions took an exciting turn. Kristen & Josh approached me for a possible mini session for the announcement of their first child. I thought it was a great idea and got right to work hashing out the details of their special session. Although this November day was rainy and overcast, these two did not let it damper what we were their to celebrate. Kristen & Josh were even great sports when I proposed we explore the cornfield across the street. Thanks for getting those new boots muddy Kristen! I can't wait to meet your little one this June!

2015 Fall Mini Sessions, Riverfront Park

Nestled on the banks of the Connecticut River, the docks at Riverfront park were the perfect backdrop for this year's fall mini sessions. The day was filled with crisp autumn temperatures, warm cozy blankets and smores! Throughout the afternoon I got to know new families, caught up with returning ones, and managed to snap a few photos in-between. Every session was special in it’s own way and I am honored to have captured special moments for so many families. A big thank you to everyone that participated in this year's fall mini sessions. There were too many families to include photos from them all, so please enjoy the select highlights below. Happy holidays! xo

Olivia + Mike, Brainerd House Wedding

This was a special one people! This quaint day began with an early morning arrival to the Brainerd House, a 250 year old inn nestled in the hills of the Connecticut River Valley. Mike & Olivia were so excited to get married, it showed all day! The property buzzed with set up as the bride and groom snuck away to get ready. I had the opportunity to shoot my first "first look". It was WAY fun and had me as giddy as can be! The energy of this groom seeing his bride for the first time was palpable. As their ceremony began, they were surrounded by a small group of close family and friends. The evening was spent celebrating and dancing the night away. I don't want to blabber on too much, so i'll let the pictures do most of the talking. Enjoy!

Kate + Mike, Hillstead Engagement Session, #FlashbackFriday

With Kate & Mike's Santa Barbara wedding quickly approaching, I had to get their cuddly engagement session up on the blog! These two love birds originally met on the north shore of Boston when a mutual friend decided to throw a party. After years of dating and even time apart on separate coasts, Mike& Kate made it official with a summer proposal! We got to spend one of the last summer evenings at the Hill-Stead Museum celebrating their love. We walked the grounds exploring it's hidden details, spent time in the sunken garden and watched the sunset from the rocking chairs on the grand south porch. Reminisce of warmer days by taking a peak at their evening below.

Morgan + Max, Kronenburger Tree Farm Engagement Session

Morgan is one of my close friends, so when she and Max became inseparable last December I had a feeling she had found 'the one'. Max arranged a super-sneaky surprise proposal in October that had Morgan jumping up from her seat to say yes before he could even finish asking the question! Morgan is fiercely loyal, full of life and always goes out of her way to make you feel special. The more I get to know Max, the more I see how his character and gifts compliment and balance out hers. The love these two have for each other is palpable. And did I mention how photogenic they are? A few weeks ago they came over for dinner. When Morgan and I realized we both pinned the same photo on Pinterest, we let out a shriek of delight and the rest was history. I've been dying to do a wintery shoot for a few years now, and this one really hit the spot. We spent some time at a local tree farm, enjoying the first snow of the season. Get in the Christmas sprit and take a peak at their photos below!

Caroline + Chris, Lake Hayward Wedding

The morning began with country roads leading to the lake house Caroline and her family have owned since she was a kid. The house's field stone walls and tall pines scattered amongst the property provided the perfect backdrop to this rustic backyard wedding. The house was buzzing as aunts & uncles, grandparents, cousins, neighbors and long time friends arrived. I was even able to overhear a story or two from summers past as Caroline's mom and sister helped with last minute preparations. Caroline and Chris's special day felt like summering with old friends. It was perfectly intimate, sentimental and to top it off...they opted for wedding PIES! What's better than that? Highlights from their day are below. Enjoy!

Amy + Steve, Jennings Beach Engagement

I had the opportunity to second shoot with the wonderful Chrissy Vensel, a CT based wedding photographer working out of Plainville, CT. Chrissy is a friend of mine, and has been a source of encouragement and support as I've grown in my photographic abilities over the past few years. We ventured down to Fairfield a few Sunday's ago and watched the beach clear out as we waited for Amy and Steve to arrive. The evening was spent walking up and down the shore, getting our feet wet and celebrating the love between these two. Enjoy some of the highlights from their engagement shoot below.
