The Allens, Auer Farm Mini Session

I was excited to have been able to do Fall Mini Sessions once again. It had been several years (and a baby later) since I had offered them last. This year’s were at Auer Farm, in Bloomfield, Connecticut and took on a dreamy, whimsical feel. With inspiration from rustic autumn evenings and rolling Connecticut hills, sessions were held in an old, long forgotten orchard. Throughout the afternoon I got to know new families, caught up with returning ones, and managed to snap a few photos inbetween. Every session was special in it’s own way and I am honored to have captured special moments for so many families. A big thank you to everyone that participated in this year's sessions. There were too many families to include photos from them all, so please enjoy the select highlights from the Allen’s session.

The Castrogiovannis, Moscarillo's Green House Family Session

I can't believe that this is my fourth session with the Castrogiovannis! Over the years, I've had the please of documenting everything from their engagement, to expecting their first child, and a few things in between.

Our most recent shoot was a family "mini" session at Moscarillo's Green House. This was the perfect location, considering it was a rainy March day. Although we were shooting indoors, the large translucent ceiling and side walls allowed for natural light to stream inside. The overcast skies created a soft, muted tone throughout the session. The families neutral wardrobe of tans and grays complemented the greens and pops of orange found around the greenhouse. After a long New England winter, I'm totally in love with the greenery and colors in this one.

Check out our time exploring the greenhouse below. Enjoy!

The Kellams, Hillstead Museum Mini Session

This family right here? These are my people. My husband and I have had the blessing of sharing life with the Kellams for several years. We have celebrated in each other's victories and have definitely shared an ugly cry or two. The openness, faithfulness and love this family has for one another is fierce. So when you donate a photo session to a fundraising auction, and one of your best friends wins it - you giggle (and fist pump a little bit). Love these guys. Highlights from our mini session are below! Enjoy.

The Vaccaros, Sub Edge Farm Family Session

When Blair & I first met over coffee, we spent most of our time swapping stories about how we met our spouses and the adventures of motherhood. During our conversation, Blair had shared in passing that she had hoped to make it to Sub Edge Farm on her wedding day, and that she loved the open fields on the property. For what ever reason, her and Brian had never made it there on their special day. After hearing that, making the trek out to the farm with their family just made sense. Five years and two kiddos later, they finally made it! We spent the evening exploring the property,it's red barns and of course it's wide open fields. Highlights from our time are below. Enjoy.

Grayson's First Birthday, #GJPERSONAL

Hi all! It's been several weeks (ok, maybe months) since my last post. With the winter wind down and being pregnant, I've been pretty busy preparing for our little guys July arrival.  But as you can see,  I managed to put my camera to some good use. My husband and I have the privilege of living next door to some of our very best friends. Last weekend we celebrated their youngest son's first birthday. This mama is not only loving and loyal...she is a creative who brings her amazing ideas to life with ease! Her attention to detail and phenomenal skills made this woodland themed birthday unforgettable. From invitations, to homemade cakes and all the little details in-between, it was a joy to celebrate this little guy's first year of life.

I ran home to grab my camera for this little one's cake smash and managed to snap a few last minute photos of only some of the gorgeous details. Enjoy the little tease!

William + Grayson, Holiday Mini Session

I've known these boys since the day each of them were born, and call their mama one of my best friends! William is a spirited little boy who loves garbage trucks, trains and Chipotle. Greyson is his jolly little brother, who is always smiling and about as sweet as they come. Some friends let us shoot in their amazing apartment and were great sports when we took out 3 bags of feathers and explained we wanted to throw them around the room! Take a peak at this darling in-home mini session. If these smiles and stripped pajamas don't get you in the holiday spirit, I don't know what will!

Couldn't help but post a few 'behind the scenes' photos too, their too precious not to!

2015 Fall Mini Sessions, Riverfront Park

Nestled on the banks of the Connecticut River, the docks at Riverfront park were the perfect backdrop for this year's fall mini sessions. The day was filled with crisp autumn temperatures, warm cozy blankets and smores! Throughout the afternoon I got to know new families, caught up with returning ones, and managed to snap a few photos in-between. Every session was special in it’s own way and I am honored to have captured special moments for so many families. A big thank you to everyone that participated in this year's fall mini sessions. There were too many families to include photos from them all, so please enjoy the select highlights below. Happy holidays! xo

Julie + Zach, Cornfield Point Family Session

This was a super sneaky session and the best way to welcome in the summer. Julie contacted me a few months back with the idea of surprising her husband with photographs for Father's Day. Since I'm always up for a good surprise, I was in! A couple conversations and a coffee later, we were all ready to go. We spent the perfect summer evening walking the coastline. Julie is an attentive, loving and easy-going mama who soaked in every discovery her little guy made. Zachary is an energetic and adventurous little boy who would of gladly spent the whole time in the water if we let him. We ended the evening on a weathered pier, watching the summer sun sink beneath the horizon. It was literally the perfect sunset. You know, the kind that makes everything glowy and magical? Swoon! Photographs from our time together are below. Enjoy! xo

2104 Fall Mini Sessions, Westmoor Park

I'm not one to be eloquent with words, so I'm always left wondering what to write here. So because of that, I'll rely on my photos to speak louder than my words ever could. With that being said, I'm super excited to finally share the photos from my first ever mini sessions! West Hartford's Westmoor park proved to be the perfect location to celebrate fall in New England. Between the glowing foliage and warm temperatures, we were spoiled rotten that day! As the afternoon progressed every session began to take on its own unique feel. Each families' moments have a tone and intimacy all their own. Below is a selection from each. And lastly, a big THANK YOU to Rebecca for being my right hand gal that whole afternoon, your eye for detail is amazing! So glad to have spent the day creating together.

Enjoy!
