The Allens, Auer Farm Mini Session

I was excited to have been able to do Fall Mini Sessions once again. It had been several years (and a baby later) since I had offered them last. This year’s were at Auer Farm, in Bloomfield, Connecticut and took on a dreamy, whimsical feel. With inspiration from rustic autumn evenings and rolling Connecticut hills, sessions were held in an old, long forgotten orchard. Throughout the afternoon I got to know new families, caught up with returning ones, and managed to snap a few photos inbetween. Every session was special in it’s own way and I am honored to have captured special moments for so many families. A big thank you to everyone that participated in this year's sessions. There were too many families to include photos from them all, so please enjoy the select highlights from the Allen’s session.

Pam + Greg, River Valley Inn Wedding

After spending years apart, these high school sweethearts found their way back to one another and finally made it official this past summer. Pam and Greg had a small wedding at the historic River Valley Inn, in Glastonbury, Connecticut, surrounded by close family and friends. Guests arrived to find a quaint patio nestled in the Inn’s well manicured garden. Pergola’s full of wisteria lined the backyard, and tall weeping willows added a whimsical feel to the day. I loved incorporating the lush greenery and natural elements of the property in to Pam & Greg’s photos. Following the ceremony guests enjoyed heavy hor’dourves and were treated to fresh pasta served a la carte. The night winded down with cake and dancing under the stars. I truly enjoyed sharing in Pam & Greg’s special day.

Highlights from their day are below. Enjoy!

Franchesca+Rashard, Pardee Rose Garden Elopement

Franchesca & Rashard are the real deal you guys. When we first met over coffee, we chatted about how they met one another and their journey to saying "I do". As they shared with me, I could tell their love for one another was deep. Not because of any particular story they told, or phrase they said - but because of the ease and comfort shared between them. Like the way you feel when you put on your favorite sweatshirt, or that warm feeling you get when you sink in the couch after a long day. They're home to one another, and that shared feeling made photographing their day so special.

These two chose to have an elopement style wedding at a local rose garden with their immediate family. Their ceremony was short and sweet, and as we snuck off to take photos, guest snacked on light appetizers and drinks.  I loved the intimacy of their small wedding, and the freedom of schedule they chose to provide for the day.  Franchesca & Rashard chose to make their photographs the main emphasis of the day and set aside a large amount of time to take their portraits. We explored the park's greenhouses, cherry blossom grove and graciously stumbled upon on the most beautiful weeping willow tree, tucked away in the back corner of the property. It was such a sweet afternoon.Later that evening the group went out to a local restaurant to celebrate the days events.

The Castrogiovannis, Moscarillo's Green House Family Session

I can't believe that this is my fourth session with the Castrogiovannis! Over the years, I've had the please of documenting everything from their engagement, to expecting their first child, and a few things in between.

Our most recent shoot was a family "mini" session at Moscarillo's Green House. This was the perfect location, considering it was a rainy March day. Although we were shooting indoors, the large translucent ceiling and side walls allowed for natural light to stream inside. The overcast skies created a soft, muted tone throughout the session. The families neutral wardrobe of tans and grays complemented the greens and pops of orange found around the greenhouse. After a long New England winter, I'm totally in love with the greenery and colors in this one.

Check out our time exploring the greenhouse below. Enjoy!

Evan, Professional Portrait Sneak Peak

I recently had the opportunity to stop by the Brooke Group office to photograph some of it's newest employees. Evan started this spring as the Director of Marketing. Her positive attitude and approachability easily shine through her photographs. From the moment you meet her, she feels like a friend. Best of luck in this new season of life Evan!

Kelly Towart, For Daniel Wellington

This face might look familiar to you - it’s the wonderful Kelly Towart! She is a sweet friend of mine who’s continuing to gain exposure as a local fashion and motherhood blogger. I had the chance to collaborate with her again this past November, for her holiday campaign with Daniel Wellington (they make AMAZING watches, you can check them out here). Kelly really wanted an urban feel for this session. Since we had already done a session in New Haven, I wanted this one to look different - so we made our way to the abandon factories in Collinsville. The red buildings and moss-covered brick gifted us with the perfect holiday background. Highlights from our session are below. Enjoy!

The Kellams, Hillstead Museum Mini Session

This family right here? These are my people. My husband and I have had the blessing of sharing life with the Kellams for several years. We have celebrated in each other's victories and have definitely shared an ugly cry or two. The openness, faithfulness and love this family has for one another is fierce. So when you donate a photo session to a fundraising auction, and one of your best friends wins it - you giggle (and fist pump a little bit). Love these guys. Highlights from our mini session are below! Enjoy.
